The Person and the Page: Defining Self in the Personal Essay

Exploring personal histories, secrets, and experiences in personal essays can be an overwhelming task. It may be easier to retreat into the familiar versus bringing depth and detail to our portrayals on the page. This session provides practical ways to dig below the surface of how we view ourselves and those we choose to include in our work. Participants will leave the session with tools to enrich their current or future projects and perhaps a better understanding of themselves.
